Hey guys, welcome back to the story cottage. We are announcing season two.
SPEAKER_00We're back, we're back!
SPEAKER_01And we're going to start season two. The first episode will release on May 9th. That is a Saturday. But first, we have a couple brief personal announcements.
SPEAKER_00Well, we have two major things going on in our life. One, we welcomed our third little baby into the world in mid-February, Augustine Alexander Davidson. He's a handsome little boy. And it's just, it's been wonderful being a family of five. But what makes things crazy is that we have decided to move across the country to Ogden, Utah, with two toddlers and a newborn, all while trying to launch season two. And everything that comes with a cross-country move. So we, as we record this, we have, I think it's 12 days until we move. So yeah, pray for us.
SPEAKER_01Please. We need your prayers. But uh also we want to announce a brief format change. So uh the show first season went off without a hitch. We think it went very well. Uh but we decided that this season we wanted to spread it out a bit more. So we're going to do uh 16 episodes starting from May 9th, but they will be releasing the main episodes every other week. But in between each episode, we're not gonna leave you guys hanging. Yep.
SPEAKER_00We are going to do short Aesops fables. I think we decided two each week.
SPEAKER_01Uh give or take depends on the length of each fable, but yes, the growth.
SPEAKER_00They're all pretty short, so we'll probably most weeks do two, who knows. But um that will be shorter, but still something that you can enjoy listening to in between the long episodes.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and they will still be voice acted where they require it. They will still have music behind it as well as the full sound design uh as each fable calls for it. They will not have any long form commentary, but uh we thought it'd be fun to include those and kind of give some other famous old stories in between each main story that we do every other week now. Uh we will also be doing a Christmas special at the end of the season as well. One other thing, just to preface for the whole season, for what you can expect. Last season we mostly focused on fairy tales. Virtually all of them were fairy tales. There was like one or two kind of folklore uh story episodes. However, this season we're going to be focusing not just on fairy tales, we'll have plenty of those, but we're also going to be introducing a few myths as well as some other folklore stories. So be prepared. We have found a gold mine of stories in tales that you've probably never heard of or many people have forgotten.
SPEAKER_00So if you listen through season one, we're excited to have you back for season two. And if you are new to the Story Cottage, we can't wait to have you come inside.
SPEAKER_01Yes. And one final note, please consider, as you hear this announcement episode, subscribing to our podcast. We only ask $5 a month. That keeps the cottage warm and the show going. Uh, it's not free to do this, so we appreciate any support you can give us, and that gets you all the main episodes completely ad-free. Uh, we're also excited to bring on some new sponsors this season, which we will announce with the first main episode. But thank you guys for joining us.
SPEAKER_00Too looted, you know.
